Gabriella Nevarez

Gabriella Nevarez was a 22-year-old mother. On March 14, 2014 Nevarez finished a heated discussion with her grandmother and took her car for a drive. Nevarez’s grandmother reported the car as missing to Citrus Heights police. After a high-speed chase, police reported that Nevarez was driving recklessly. Nevarez crashed into a pole, ending the car chase when police opened fire. A total of 14 shots were taken, 4 of which hit Nevarez in her head, chest, and back. No officers have currently been reprimanded, fired, or convicted.
